3rd and 4th weeks news

1) A new handphone targeted at the elderly and children has just made. The size of the numbers and words are at least three times bigger than our normal handphone as elderly has bad eye-sight. The elderly can see the words and numbers more clearly. Besides having big numbers and words, there is a special SOS button on the back of the handset so that if an elderly gets into trouble, pressing the single butoon will send emergency calls and text messages to four pre-programmed numbers.

Opinion:
I think that it is good to have this kind of handphone for the elderly. Also, I agree that elderly have bad eye-sight so it is good to have big words and numbers. It is very special to have a single button to send emergency calls and message as youngsters' target are always the elderly. The youngesters like to cheat their money so i think it is very creative to have a single button behind the handset. If the elderly's children wanted their parents to be safe, it is a good choice to buy them the handphone for them.

2)A man gave birth again. He gave birth to a daughter barely a year ago and now he just gave birth to a boy. He is the first legally transgender male to concevie after he decided to keep his female sex organs during chest reconstruction surgery and testostergone therapy. A photograph of bearded Mr Beateie with a pregnant belly became a worldwide sensation last year. The 35 year old and his legal wife 46, became parents again on Tuesday morning. Mr Beatie was once known as Tracy but retained his female sex organs in the gender reassignment surgery because he planned to give birth one day.

Opinion:
I think it is quiet weird to have a man to give birth. I could not really believe that a man could give birth. Although Mr Beatie was once a female, i think that once he sex to become a male, he should not retain the female sex organs in the gender. It is a miracle to have a man to give birth to two babys and he is the first man to give birth too.

My news summary (1st & 2nd weeks)....

1) A toddler was found drowned in a pail of water at home while his young mother slept, tired out after a night of clubbing. Adrian Ong Jun Wei's father was out looking for job that time. The child's maternal grandmother was also outside picking a gift for her grandson's first birthday. When Mr Ong reached home, he was shocked to see that his don was not on the mattress in the living room next to his wife. She was still asleep. Mr Og found his son in the toilet half-submerged in a pail of water. He pulled the baby out but he was unresponding. Immediately, he woke his wife, Ms Tan Siew Kim, 20, and they rushed to the Raffles Hospital when he was announced dead in about one an a half hours later. Mr Ong said that a month ago, his son crawled to the toilet and stood up. holding on a pail of water for support. he splashed water in it before his mother carried him away.

In my opinion:

This is a very sad story as the baby is only 11 month and he was dead. The mother of the child could not be totally blame as it is difficult for a 20 years old being a mother and she was very tired but she should check in the toilet before going to bed. As the family was very busy that time, nobody could take care of the child. If anyone of them check the toilet before going out or going to bed, then this incident will not happen.

To prevent all this kind of things to happen again, first, parents should check the toilets to see if there is any pails of water. Secondly, the parents must try not to be late back home to cause themself to get tired. Lastly, they should keep all the things that is dangerous for the baby to play or touch away from them. If they were really very busy, I suggest that they should hire a maid or bring the baby to the relative house before going to work.

2) A 15 year old Singaporean student studying in India has become the island's eigth case of H1N1. He is also the first boy to be picked up by the thermal scanners installed in Changi Airport. His fever was detected by the airport scanner when he arrived in Singapore on Monday. He was then brought to Tan Tock Seng hospital and is now warded at KK Women's and Childrean Hospital. He was taken there early Tuesday morning. The laboratory results at 2.40 pm on the same day confirmed he was infected by H1N1.

My opinion:

I think that the H1N1 virus has become more serious so Singaporeans must be more aware about the virus. We should try not to go to overseas this time to prevent the virus. In school, we must take our temperature daily or regularly to see if we have fever. If we really have fever, we should go to the clinic and do not go out to spread the illness to other people. Also, we must wash our hands regularly especially after using the toilet. Before eating, we must watch our hands too especially under our finger nails as the dirt will trap there. After all this kinds of practise, we can protect ourselves and fight against the virus. (212 words)
